I thought this was pretty interesting (http://www.realgm.com/src_feature_article/247/20101219/europe_interivew_demarcus_nelson_of_cholet/)

I don't know if this link is attached correctly, and I do apologize if it is not.

Wow. Thanks for finding this. Great to catch up with one of my favorite players. Interesting to hear how he was treated by the NBA execs. That was new info, as far as I know.

Thanks for that.

Sometimes when a player is cut from the NBA, we'll see some kind of dismissive remark along the lines of "he'd better practice his French." But the top Euros play pretty high-level basketball. If you can find the right team and the right niche, you can make a pretty good living doing what you love. Trajan Landgon and Crawford Palmer are just two examples.

That said, I would love to see Nelson back in the NBA, this time to stay.

Thanks for the link! It doesn't surprise me that DeMarcus was "double-talked" by the GM/Owners/Coaches; I am positive it isn't exclusive to him.

Thanks for the link. DeMarcus Nelson was a fantastic player at Duke who I really enjoyed watching play. I wish him the best of luck in Europe. Perhaps he will return to the NBA in the future. If not, as others have already pointed out, playing ball overseas can be a fun way to earn a living.
