This should be good enough to get his jersey retired, right? ;)

Here's the link to a brief interview with him. And the title should read "SN male college athlete of the year."

(Also if this is already up somewhere else and I missed it on the search, let me know and I'll delete it).

I think its a possibility....its a national recognition, along with FFmop....if he swings AA, i'd put it in the books (or the rafters)....because with his point totals right now not being significantly better than last year, I think he's looking at an uphill battle against the likes of kemba walker...now can kemba keep this up in BE play? he did it against UK and MSU, who while they've looked weaker than we thought, still have very good guards....

not to hijack the thread, but this is a huge honor for Kyle and this team, and I love how the first thing he does is give praise to K

Has Duke ever had a FF team without at least dude whose jersey ended up getting retired? 2010 may end up being the anomaly if Singler doesn't make it, but I think FF MOP, graduating in 4 years, being in the pantheon of points scored, plus the likely boatload of awards he'll get this year probably is enough to give him the edge.

Congratulations, Kyle! Well deserved.

(Let's worry about the jersey after the season, eh?)

Agreed. It was a great response, one that made me feel proud to be associated with this school and basketball team (you know, as a fan).

I'm glad this announcement was on the Boards; otherwise I never would have known about it living in the Triangle area of NC. No mention in the Raleigh N&O this morning or the 10 pm Durham sports on TV last night. Quite an honor for Kyle!

Kyle only gets a B- (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=5925927) for the year from Eamon Brennan though. I suspect Kyle's numbers will tick up every game while Kyrie is out, inadvertantly helping his career stats too.

And Nolan gets a much-deserved A.

Well, these grades aren't really for the players in question, as Brennan himself says:

These grades are directed at our picks when seen in retrospect. They're not an appraisal of that player's play to date. Got it?
