The good news is that the torn-up stretch of Cameron Blvd/751 that feeds almost all the traffic into Cameron is about to be repaved.

The bad news is that the re-paving will be done Saturday -- just in time to screw everything up for the Duke-St. Louis game.

Duke is advising alternate routes -- although it's pretty hard for most of us to get there without using 751.

DOT must be run by a heel alum.

Secretary Conti has a doctorate from Duke.

For those of you going to the game, I'll pass along some information e-mailed to Iron Dukes. They reference their web page, with with maps:

They also suggested alternative routes:

15-501 to Morreene Road to Towerview Drive
NC 147 or I-85 to Hillsborough Rd/Fulton Street to Erwin Road to Towerview Drive

I can get to the 751 lot using other roads, but the ONLY exit Duke Public Safety allows from that lot is onto 751. Ought to be interesting.

You're assuming DOT is run by anyone?

From one of the Durhamites who voted yes to approve the bond which is funding this repaving (and paying an extra dollar or so in taxes), you're welcome. ;)

Actually, this is a State project, not one of the city projects that is being paid by the bond you reference. (I believe this is a standard project, not a stimulus one. Any further discussion on funding, and it'll take it to the off-topic board. :-)

I think they meant Hillandale Rd/Fulton St, not Hillsborough Rd.

Should be interesting to see how they adjust the traffic patterns. We used to always come in on Morreene to Towerview, but they stopped letting us in that way this year, so I guess we go back to it for one game. Better get an early start.
