OK, I love Bobby Knight and am OK with Tirico but come on!
During halftime of the Kansas/Memphis game Knight referred to "Plummer" as being the most improved player in the country for Duke and after 3 times Digger corrected him with Plumlee.
Tirico than ended it with "the Plumlee Twins" have really come along!

How can this be??? Digger is the only one that didn't screw it up!

Digger messed it up too because I'm pretty sure they were referring to Mason and Digger said Miles.
Oh well!

And then Nrrrrvous kept referring to John Saunders as Mike Tirico! :)

Hilarious how Knight did not flinch at all when Digger corrected him, as if he was saying, "Yeah, I called him Plummer. What are you gonna do about it?"

Oops, I had Tirico on the brain for some reason. That's what I get for calling em out.:o

Thought it was interesting regarding what Digger said about prostate cancer (as he was telling all men to get screened, twice a year after age 50). For those that don't know, prostate cancer screening is very controversial. There is a huge problem of overdiagnosis (as the PSA screening test is not specific for prostate cancer, causing a lot of false postiives and a lot of worry), unneeded biopsy, and cost.

If you had to get a cancer, prostate cancer is probably the one to get. It generally grows very slowly. In fact, if a a 75 year old is diagnosed with localized prostate cancer, surgeons generally decide not to remove it given that the morbidity is likely worse from the surgery than it would be from just letting the cancer be. In other words, a 75 year old with localized prostate cancer would likely die from other causes than die of prostate cancer. Though 1 of 6 or so men get prostate cancer (especially if they live to and old age), only something like 15-20% of those men actually die of the disease.

Regardless, Digger's heart was in the right place. Screening and prevention are incredibly important (and evidence-based) for some cancers, such as colon cancer after age 50.

Rewound and checked, you're right. Somehow I feel better knowing that Digger screwed up also.

If digger was smart enough to do his homework and get it right the first time he might still be coaching.

such as colon cancer after age 50.
Which also isn't without its share of controversy :)

DevilHorns's point is that proper screening is effective at detecting and preventing colon cancer, which is totally curable if caught before it spreads. Screening is close to 100% effective in detecting cancer, but just as important, screening results in removing polyps before they can become cancerous. And when you say there is controversy, I don't know what you are referring to. There is indeed controversy over prostate surgery and other treatments, but none that I know of around colon cancer.

I think I am up-to-date on the disease, but maybe I am not, although I just saw my G-I specialist last week and got genetic testing at Hopkins a couple of years ago. I survived 30 years ago, and my children get screened now because of my experience at such a young age.

I know that a colonoscopy is not a perfect screening test, ie, it's poor at picking up right-sided colon cancers in particular and, from what I understand, doesn't really offer a benefit if you have a right-sided lesion (in terms of outcome). I haven't heard any controversy over the efficacy of 10-yr colonoscopies for those over age 50 in general.

I'm always entertained when the announcers refer to them as twins. That would have been one hell of a labor for Mrs. Plumlee to have twins born a year apart.

If MP1 and MP2 are only a year apart, they might be referred to as "Irish Twins" where I come from. This is the case for my own two, who were born just 10 months apart. I remember the look my father in law gave me when he heard the news!

They're actually 18 months apart. I believe that Miles repeated a year (not due to academics but due to changing schools) so technically Miles would be two school years older than Mason.
