Hey guys, I go to the North Carolina School of Science and Math here in Durham and we're asking for your help for our food drive this year.
This NCSSM Food Drive is about giving back, helping others, and uniting people. We hope to break a world record too. Last year, NCSSM students attempted a world record for the largest food drive in 24 hours. Nearly 320,000 lbs. were collected in 18 hours with only two months of planning. That was enough to serve 8,827 meals and it broke a state record.
This year, we are raising the bar. With 6 months of planning and the help of the Pepsi Refresh Project, we hope to collect 700,000 lbs. to assist the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC as they help feed thousands of people in need. We also want to help educate K-12 students about food insecurity and how they, too, can help. Getting today's youth involved will help build a community-service-oriented generation of students.
We're pairing up with the Pepsi Refresh Project to get a 50,000$ grant towards the Food Drive. A little poll-skewing can ensure our position in the top 10 and any help is much appreciated! You can vote once per project per day for up to 10 projects. If you only have time to vote for one, please vote for us!!
