"Williams suffered a dislocated right patella during court conditioning drills at the team’s practice facility yesterday. He will undergo surgery to repair the dislocated patella and will be reevaluated at that point."

Here's to a speedy recovery Elliot! Will always see you as a Duke kid.

Like the Blazers need another injury. Joel Przbilla and Greg "Don't Call Me Sam Bowie" Oden are already out.

Worse news for EW. Nice guy I was really looking forward to seeing do well.

On a completely different topic, does anyone know how Williams' mother is doing?

Nice that someone asked. Apparently she had breast cancer and beat it:

"Beating" cancer isn't a lock of course, but it apparently looks good.

BTW, rumors about his knee apparently depressed his draft status. He reportedly banged knees with someone and missed a combine. Others would know more about that than I do, and I don't know if this is related or even the same knee.

He had the same issue arise in high school (patellar dislocation). This is often an issue that recurs and can occasionally lead to serious consequences.
Sounds like he will need surgery.
