Great news! Having the best player and reigning NBA champ signing-up is probably a good way to recruit the rest of the gang.

Great. Now we get to have a THREE hour special on ESPN for LeBron, DWade, and Bosh:

"The Decision II"

Or by that time will LBJ have had several other specials announcing other major decisions, like which mansion to buy, or which cereal he'll pimp ...

James wants in (http://m.apnews.com/ap/db_8566/contentdetail.htm;jsessionid=7659099E9C0068148D7F8 584E0E86939?full=true&contentguid=VSvgwo2y&detailindex=#display). Some others, too.

"I would love to be a part of that team," James said. "I think it's an unbelievable thing to represent your country. If Coach K needs me to be a part of that team, I'm available. Hopefully I'm healthy enough to be a part of that team. But I'm always up for the Olympics and representing my country."

I saw that too and what cracked me up was Chris Bosh being non-commital about playing in 2012. I think there is a small chance that Bosh is not on the 2012 team.

LBJ NEEDS to be part of the 2012 team. It will be good for him and for the team.

I will disagree. There is a chance that Bosh doesnt make the team...

2 years ago the bigs were Howard, Bosh, Boozer (carmelo and tayshawn prince also had height but I don't think they count)

2 years from now lets assume Howard is still on the team, there could be 2-3 more spots for bigs. I think Brook Lopez has a real shot at the job in leaving 1-2 more spots. Which could even go to Tyson Chandler or Lamar Odom or Javale McGee maybe Kevin Love.

There is definitely a chance that Bosh isn't on the USA team in 2012

Odom will be well into his 30's by then. He's definitely a possibility given his versatility and his play in 2010, but we'll see. Injuries have taken their toll on Chandler and he is hardly the player he once was . . . and even then he wasn't as good as Bosh. Bosh played better than Howard for much of the 2008 games and, in many ways, is better suited to the international game. Will the rule changes (normal rectangular lane and NBA three point line) change some of this dynamic? Possibly. I do think that Lopez and possibly Blake Griffin have a chance to make the team as well as possibly McGee and some others (Boozer and Prince are almost certainly out). But I doubt that those guys would be at the expense of Bosh barring an injury.

Bosh was our most productive big man in 2008. He fit in quite well with the international style.

History shows if LeBron and Wade want Bosh there, he'll be there. End of story. And as has been said, it's not like he can't play international ball.

Amar'e said recently he wants to play. I'd have to consider it a long shot for the reason that he didn't play this year: The Knicks didn't let him because of his uninsured knees. But I guess consider him a possibility.

I still think Odom's there if he wants to be. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
