Yes, it's true. Forde wrote a legitimate feature story (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/) comparing the Plumlees and the Zellers, focusing on their vastly different paths to college basketball success. I had to double check, but there is no sensationalizing about Duke, and actually very little about their college careers in general, other than talking about making their college choices in high school (and mentioning the championship for Miles and Mason of coarse).

Being held back a year for highschool students (especially with ties to athletics) is not uncommon. Go ahead and try meeting someone at a Texas high school, that is a major player in football, that was not held back at a given time of either highschool or middle school years.

Funny you mention that. My baby cousin lives in Houston and we have held him back TWICE. The first time was b/c he was schooled in Saudi and was eligible for the 9th grade at a YOUNG 13 so he could acclimate to the states. The second time was for competition as he grows into his body. He's still just a 17 year old 11th grader.

ESPN hasn't updated in a while but he's now 6'11 and 250 and has gotten in basketball shape (well until a knee injury late this summer...). Oh and he's being recruited like crazy in Texas. Parents are taking advantage of the ability to get more time (and transfering from school to school helps them with that).

Seeing what Miles has done in the off-season this year it appears he's just hitting his stride. He looked GREAT at the Pro-Am in Durham. I mean - he LOOKED like a pro...

...was all the details about the controversy stirred up in their home town of Warsaw when the Plumlee's decided to go to Christ School. Knowing how fanatic HS b-ball is in Indiana it must have been a very tough decision to make, especially given how they were essentially questioning the coaching ability of the local HS coach. Wow! Had to have toughened up the boys, though, so that mere heckling by opposing fans wouldn't bother them quite so much.

A great story.

Indeed. I'm wondering how things would develop if Cody commits to a school in Indiana or goes with the family flag. It will be big news either way but man, when I saw them this summer they were all decked out in UNC gear. I'm just saying...
