LOVED this story from Andy Katz...

USA Select Team Rewards Upper Classmen (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/blog/_/name/katz_andy/id/5364358)

Is anyone else not shocked by this? Apparently K pushed some years ago for the Select team to feature only upperclassmen. I LOVE this... absolutely love it. Not only does it give older guys who have really "stuck it out" a chance to shine and be seen on a bigger stage, but in a bigger way it really speaks highly of K's loyalty to the game as a whole and what makes the game great... namely, those older players who grow and develop and embody programs like very few one-and-dones can do.

I absolutely loved this story... it just seemed like a very "K" thing to do.

Upperclassman also understand that it is a team game and there is no way they will compete with an NBA-talent level team unless they play together. A lot of "one and done" players have won on talent alone in high school and in college. Talent alone won't be what is needed to challenge the US Olympic team.

Excellent point... you DO see a lot more "well trained, experienced" teams in world competition than "super-talented but young" teams.
