Dr. Juanita Kreps

Dr. Kreps died today in Durham. Not a basketball thread I know, and please move as needed, but I know that many of the posters here recall Dr. Kreps. She was a very astute woman who augmented and fostered Duke's reputation and directly contributed to its international standing; she was a visible and likable presence around campus during my time there.

Thank you for posting the link. Admittedly, not really related to Duke basketball, but she led a remarkable life, especially considering the circumstances of her childhood and she was devoted to Duke. I'm not sure about this but I think she may have been the first Duke faculty member to be appointed to a cabinet position.
