I think the author is kidding. Not sure, though. If not, it's probably just about the worst sports argument I've ever read.

As a sometime Knick fan (for no better reason than that I live in NYC) I find the article embarrassing. We don't need no stinkin' charity. We'll turn the Knicks around on our own, thank you very much.
