On the front page of DBR, there is a link posted that links to an article interviewing Josh Hairston. DBR says that Hairston appears ready to take over the role of Lance Taylor...

My question is, who is Lance Taylor? Did he play for Duke at one time?

It's pretty clear that they meant Lance Thomas after reading the article. Seems like a simple misspelling is all.:)

Haha, I just came to ask the same thing!

I know DBR was referring to Lance Thomas, but it seems they have called Lance Thomas, "Lance Taylor", on more than one occasion. I believe we should get the names of our own players correct 100% of the time. This kid was an integral part to our 4th National Title, no less. He was a big piece to our puzzle on the basketball floor as well as a Duke University graduate and deserves to have his name mentioned correctly on this site.

Here is the link to the mishap I am referring to, by the way...

It'd be great if he combined the defense and leadership of Lance Thomas with the scoring ability of Vince Taylor (http://www.statefansnation.com/index.php/archives/2007/06/11/remembering-vince-taylor/) . . . but I think it was a typo.

I agree, it was a typo. For what it's worth, I determined Lance Taylor was a 5'9", 187 lb. wide receiver for the University of Alabama in the first decade of the 2000s. He is now 28 years old. Maybe if Hairston possesses the football mentality of Lance Taylor and shows gridiron toughness, he will make us a better basketball team?

Here is the link to Lance Taylor's ESPN football page profile...

Just for the record, many posters have also misspelled the names of Scheyer, Smith, and Singler repeatedly on this very site.

Something like Schmingler!! :D

I remember wishing that Greg Zoubek would get healthy. I was joined in those wishes by many fellow posters.

That Brian Koubek guy was a heck of a player also. I guess after this year he now becomes the first player to play in 5 Final Fours?:D:p

Distant relative of JJ Reddick and Sheldon Williams.
