Thanks Airowe. Good interview - though I wish that backround didn't make it so hard to read... :o

I am really going to miss Lance. Such a quality guy. I certainly hope that he finds success at the next level, and I will be following him.

:D

This is the first time I've seen any mention of this:

"When we lost to VCU my freshmen year, in the locker room we were all crying and pissed off and Coach looked at us and told me, Jon, Gerald, and Brian 'you’re going to win a National Championship.' He told us that. And we looked at each other like 'come on we just lost in the first round.' We were just so mad that we lost the first game. Hearing him say that, and it actually happening, I think that was also going through his head. He told us we would do it, and we did."

If you highlight the text, or alternatively copy and paste the entire thing into a word doc it will be MUCH easier on the eyes!

This is easier still, and it plugs into your browser so you can use it for all kinds of formats. It's a freebie and is VERY useful, especially for us guys "of a certain age". I used it to read the interview.

I especially liked Lance's obvious pleasure at now being a Duke alum. It reminded me an interview with Amaker that I saw live years ago; when asked some similar questions, he said "I cannot begin to tell you what this place means to me." It was clear that he valued a great deal more of Duke than basketball. Lance apparently does, too.

I was just about to post the link to Readability. I love that formatter. Cuts away all the ads and leaves you with a readable article.

Great interview with a great representative of the program.

I have a feeling that we will appreciate this season's TEAM more and more as the years pass. It was truly an incredible group of guys.

We certainly didn't hear about it before the Butler game. But Lance and Jon and Brian have all talked about it multiple times since then.

On top of everything else, the guy is a flawless prognosticator... Amazing!

what an amazing interview. The perfect advertisement for Duke, it's BB program, and the value of staying 4 years.

Lance was the man; it's going to be hard to replace him.

Nolan sure has huge shoes to fill (as the vocal leader).

Awesome interview - I will really miss him as he is a great representative of what Duke and Duke basketball are all about.

Any word on Lance's plans post-graduation? I'm assuming he is looking into playing overseas, but I am confident he will succeed in whatever endeavor he chooses.

What a great guy, an articulate representative of what we do at Duke Basketball.

Thank you Lance, for a great ride.:)

Coach has publicly stated that Lance's ability as a role player and defender will land him a spot on an NBA roster. I don't know if the statement was made because of K's confidence in LT or whether he's had conversations with GMs, but it would be so great if some team gave him a chance.

Actually, I believe he said it was possible that Lance could make an NBA team. He never said he would. Big difference.

Lance might actually catch on with an NBA team. I could see him as a defensive specialist guarding wings. It will take the right team and right situation but it is possible.

He will likely get a chance as an undrafted free agent. The smart money is Europe but Lance is a fighter. That much we know. I wish him well either way. Great kid who took a large amount of flack from Duke fans but overcame in the end.

The write up was great. My favorite part of that article was LT admitting that he was not as good coming in as his ego led him to believe, K broke him down on that ego, and he accepted that message and set off on a mission to get better. That is a great part of the story on Lance.

Sooo many kids would have bailed and transferred fully convinced the coach was wrong about them. Not Lance. Says a lot about his character.

And his upbringing.
