I'm glad he was able to get his autograph -- and maybe Zoubek gave Sam one too.

A great sentiment well stated. I am happy that each got to meet the other. I only regret not meeting either.

moonpie,

What a wonderful moment for Sam . . . and equally wonderful Zoubs. I am so happy for all three of you.

Speaking of Zoubek...

Some guy on Youtube created an awesome 2010 "One Shining Moment" video the way it should have been... with Luther Vandross, and no shots of Jennifer Hudson.

Enjoy!

Amen, you cannot fake what is captured in that photo. Warms my heart.

One of the if not THE greatest pleasure of serving those in need is what it does for ones own spirit. Zoubs looks truly happy in that photo and I am sure he was. Trust me folks if you ever find yourself feeling a little down about your circumstances the best cure is to reach out to someone like Sam or others with physical and mental challenges and help them for a while. It is better than any drug that can be prescribed! Trust me I am a pharmacist!

Want to see real joy, volunteer to help with a Special Olympics event and watch those athletes compete. Beats the heck out of any other sporting event I have been too!

OH and by the way, Zoubs has never been taller than he is while crouching in that picture.

he's ten feet tall in my book. :)

we always set some reward/goals for sam during his rehab. This one will be a trip to see Zoubs play wherever his NBA team is next year.

Thanks for posting. Prayers for Sam, a young man with a lot of heart. I hope he gets to go someplace cool next season to watch Zoubs in action.

moonpie - Today's senseless, tragic murder at UVa upsets me so deeply, but then I look at Sam and Zoubs and I know the world has so much more good than evil. Thank you again for sharing this.

well said, oldnavy! I just shared both Sam threads with my son, and the last thing I read was your quote, "Trust me folks ... better than any drug...." So true, and a great reason to volunteer.

I agree, Zoubs has never been taller. What a great guy.
