One of the oddest names yet for a sports arena came out of the naming rights for the new arena (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36645367/ns/business-sports_biz/)in Louisville. It's the KFC Yum! Center. KFC and Taco Bell are owned by Yum Brands. I suppose the UKy fans will have fun with this one. And, no, I don't know where the exclamation point came from.

It's part of the company's name. Yum! is headquartered in Louisville.

Also, in the sidebar of this article, it reports that Butler will play Louisville in the opening game at the new arena in Louisville. Duke was rumored to play in that game, but forget about that now.

Somehow, Freedom Hall just seems to be more enduring and more elegance.

It begs for some sort of alliterative or quasi-alliterative name.

I nominate "The Chicken Coop."

Louisville is a hungry kind of town. The football stadium is Papa John's Stadium.

Why not call it the Double Down (http://www.kfc.com/doubledown/)?

Well, Yum! isn't just KFC, it's also Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

I vote for "The Grease Trap."

Good choice. The Double Down DOME gives it that extra little bit of panache it needs. The bacon on the chicken buns, if you will.

I heard that part of the naming rights contract will force Pitino to go all out the next time he wears the white suit and complete his Colonel Sanders costume, adding the correct tie, a whig, glasses and a cane. He is rumored to already be growing the mustache and goatee.
