My manager just told me Singler has already put on apporximately 30 pounds of muscle. He is usually "in the know" on this stuff so that kind of news makes me excited. :)

Maybe Watzone can chime in here?

The implication in this post is that Singler has put on 30 lbs of muscle very recently. I really hope that this isn't true, as this can't be done in a short amount of time without pharmacological assistance.

By the way, what are the odds that any Duke hoops player has ever taken an anabolic steroid or a growth hormone? Unfortunately, I'm guessing that it's fairly likely.

As somebody that tries to put on muscle weight, putting on 30lbs instantly seems highly improbable. Especially if he is running around playing ball all day. I have always been amazed at how Boozer, Brand, and S. Williams came in as beasts. It's hard to fathom being that big at 18 years of age. I think they were blessed with wonderful genetics. I think it would be too hard to hide performance enhancing drugs on the college level.

Remember, at their age it is not unusual to fill out fast. On a side note if he has been lifting all this time with playing on the national teams it isn't that big of a shock.

Maybe he has put on 10 or 15 pounds, but 30? I doubt it.

Maybe. Logistically speaking I don't know how the anatomy works thorugh excercise especiialy taking height and weight into account.

Promising news that he is getting ready though.

Oooh, is he also nailing shots from half-court with his eyes closed? Dominating NBA players in pick-up games?

Maybe six or seven pounds. He will be on campus working out in late July.

When do classes start again? It's been a year or two since a fall semester for me. Mid August?

30 pounds? Since 8th grade maybe.

Look, IMO, trying to turn Singler into a 5 would not take best advantage of his skills and would put him at excessive risk of fouling out. Why turn a potentially great college forward in to a mediocre center? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Same thing they were doing to Josh, imo. I think they will make him guard the post though.

He's best playing like Dirk, but Dirk plays the NBA 4, so he has to guard beefy guys and he has to be strong when driving through the lane. Putting on weight is a good thing for his position and he can still be a perimeter player.

I think Joe Forte wishes he had Shav's NBA career.

Kyle Singler will probably wind up being the leading scorer this year. Also, probably ACC Rookie of the Year.

Why wait? Hold the ceremony in February, '08.

Why is every new guy a 2nd coming and the current "2nd coming" not as good?

That Kyle Singler has beefed up considerably, and now looks like WWE star Triple H. He also said that in workouts, when other guys are shooting threes, he jumps and does two handed 360 dunks that are worth 3 because obviously he takes off from behind the three point line. And I am talking about the NEW three point line here(which is too long/not long enough).

He also built an additional 3000 seats in cameron last week, raising the roof via military press, and stomping the floor until it sank the extra 10 feet down needed. He needed to do this, because he has already sold the 3,000 extra season tickets to women who saw him running down Wrightsville Beach when he was working out last week.

The crazy part was that he started that run outside Card, that morning, and was back for supper with the team. Forget making space in the rafters, we are going to put a holographic 200 foot statue of him outside Cameron that can be seen from Chapel Hell's campus.

HOLLA!

The extra 30 pounds is actually the weight of Roy William's soul, which Kyle keeps in a charm bracelet around his left wrist...so it doesn't affect his shot.

Hahahaha... Phaedrus may be right, but if Roy has anything of value, Kyle stealthily steals it each night at 1:38 AM.

Then each morning Roy wakes up and says, "What in the heck? Well dang it all, somebody done stoled my things again, guess I better go buy some more!"

But he has to be cautious, if he spends too much he won't have dimes for his Cokes :D

Singler? I know Kyle Singler.

One time Singler and I were hiking on Mount Hood when a grizzly bear jumped out from behind a tree and stood a foot in front of us on the path, growling so loudly my hair was blown back and I could smell salmon on the bear's breath. In one seamless move Singler thrust his hand right into that bear's chest, pulled out its still-beating heart, showed it to the bear, and said, "Now leave before I have to HURT you." The bear rolled off the path and down the mountainside.
