....in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament, it has always gone to the Final Four: 1988, 1991, 1999 and 2004. In 1992, 2001, and 2006, we won the second round game by exactly 13 points. Only 2006 failed to result in a Regional championship.

Others have noted apropos of Villanova's scare against Robert Morris that winning close games is not usually a good sign for future rounds. Maybe the converse is true?

Purdue is the '27 Yankees as far as I'm concerned.

(But these numbers present quite the pleasant pattern, I must say.)

I hope not, because UK won their second round game by 30.

I for one am glad they did. Cornell will come out and play a different game than they have seen all year, with different personnel than they are used to.

John Wall, Cousins, and Patterson at this point are playing for a better pick/$$$ in the NBA (which I guess is impossible for Wall).

Lets hope the immaturity, the egos, the expectation of a win produces a huge upset.
