Better yet... I'm hoping for State in and Carolina out.

Don't get your hopes up. The most likely scenario is that UNC will get in and NC State will be out.

I think there's a good chance of that coming to fruition. Halfway through ... no HOLES.

a FOUR SEED? What the hell. Its clearly about who can bring in the most money for the tournament, not who has actually earned it.

UNC is a 4 seed. Haha the analyst said UNC didn't deserve to get in the NIT.

Blah. I could tell UNC was in when they teased it going in to the last commercial break. When it comes down to it, they're going to try and pull some press/viewers to the event. This gives me new hope that they will lose to W&M and have a losing record this season. As a secondary goal, I'd like to see State knock them out.

Come on William & Mary, send them to a losing season

this is like the old days for the NIT. Make it up as you go along. C'mon Bill & Mary, oust the holes and make 'em 16-17.

Farg. I suppose the a-holes will play in Carmichael, too. No justice.

wow. CM Newton interview. Snorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-eeeeeeeeeeeee.

Even if they beat W+M they'll lose to Miss St., which means they'll still finish at .500

Hopefully they'll lose to William and Mary.

If not, then they can lose to NC State (if State makes it past) in the second round.

It's Bill and Mary. If the TRIBE has a big lead,, Bill may not play in the second half :D

W&M coach Tony Shaver is a Carolina alum. What a bind!

I'm going to love seeing all of those empty seats on tv (though the color will hurt my eyes). Go W&M.

Anybody think that Miami got stiffed?

20 wins and counting the two in the ACC Tournament, they wound up with more ACC wins than Carolina. I know the Heels beat them head-to-head late, but the one matchup between them was in Chapel Hill ... no question that Miami was playing better in Greensboro -- a lot better than the Heels.

I'm not shocked that UNC got a bid, but I'm flabbergasted that they were seeded high enough for a home game. As someone said, maybe it is the same ol' NIT, despite their claims that it's not on the up and up.

W&Mary will be tough, but UNC has a chance in Carmichael. They better enjoy it, because I'm pretty sure they will see it all end in Game 2 at Mississippi State.

Tough road for the Pack, which probably will have to win three road games to reach New York.

Definitely a decision based on money and not based on performance. This clearly flies in the face of all the talk about teams getting in based on resume. It's all about the dollar.

Go Tribe! I was cheering for them to be a surprise NCAA team, so I hope they can win this one against the Holes.

UNC, VA Tech and State made it to the little dance.

Bingo! No other way possible to explain it. There RPI is horrible, and after the ACC Tourney, the heels finished with the overall worst ACC Record with a 5 and 12 Record.

Here are the final ACC Records for the Season counting Reg Season and Tourney:

1. Duke- 16 - 3
2. Twerps- 13 - 4
3. Va Tech- 10 - 7
4. FSU- 10 - 7
5. Ga Tech- 10 - 10
6. Clemson- 9 - 8
7. Wake- 9 - 8
8. NC State- 7 - 12
9. BC- 6 - 11
10. UVA- 6 - 12
11. Miami- 6 - 13

And finally, give it up folks to THE team with 7 Mickey D All-Americans, and Hall of Fame Coach- "The Roy", "Ol Roy", or "Huck", I present to you your D F L team of the 2009-10 ACC Season....

DFL- Unc@Ch 5 - 12

It's completely ridiculous that Carolina got a 4-seed, but you could make a case for them ahead of Miami based on the fact that Carolina's non-conference schedule was light years ahead of Miami. Miami's conference resume was only slightly better than UNC.

So what this means (assuming they took the next best 32, allowing for regular season champs) is that if the NCAAs expanded to 96 teams that Carolina would have made it... um. If you need any more reason why the NCAAs should not be expanded then there it is.

Hi,

I like to see UNC fail as much (or is it more?) than the next guy, but I rather see Duke thrive more than anything else. Woofing has a karma all its own. I don't want the Woof gods getting mad at our fan base and taking it out on the team this NCAA tournament.

Everyone knows that the Tar Heels don't deserve to be in the NIT and most assuredly a number 4 seed. Rather than rubbing it in (as I am sure many Tar Heel would do to us if the situation were reversed) let's concentrate on cheering for our beloved Blue Devils and winning the next games on Friday (and if all goes according to plan) on Sunday. From there let's think about the Regionals. After all, who really cares about UNC?

GO DUKE!
