I hope it's not presumptuous to create this thread title, Jumbo. I always really appreciate the +/- numbers.

To tide us over til Jumbo can do his thing:

Very telling. Most of our guys are minus and most of MD guys are +. No wonder we lost. Let's flip that around Sat. night!

Just a Point: Lance was in during the key last 3.5 minute stretch. Where we lost (and were technically -4).

So Don't go making him out to be the one good player of this game.

It's true that one 40 minute game is a poor sample size to make judgments about a player, but why do you think 3.5 minutes is a better sample?

Even counting those 3.5 minutes, the team was +8 when Lance was in the game and -15 when he wasn't. Nobody else can make that claim, and whether you want to think so or not, it wasn't entirely a coincidence. Even without the numbers it's easy to see our defense is WAY better when Lance is in the game.

Lance was especially important last night because of his ability to hit the offensive boards and still get back and play good defense against a quick team that was having a great deal of success in transition. As yet, Miles and Mason have not shown a consistent ability to do the same. Zoubek makes a good effort, but he is not as fast or mobile as Lance.

I have lost my value to the community. And who knows what sort of jinx this might cause? I will post my numbers tomorrow anyway, I guess.

I have to give you credit - you have too much resolve to let facts get in the way of your beliefs. Respect.

Nah. Your numbers are better. Because they're homemade.

I thought I just presented a fact.

I thought it was a good idea to shake things up after a loss. You'll be the first off the bench to gently correct uninformed posters.

You've brought us and taught us about +/-. We missed it, and tried to fill a large - well Jumbo-sized really - void. You should feel honored!

And if a jinx reverses the MD game's karma, that's OK too.

Poor, poor Jumbo. I am so sorry to have contributed to this unexpected dip in self-esteem.

Here's a little painting called "Self-portrait" to cheer you up.

You rock, Jumbo.

Here they are, a couple of days too late, my antiquated, rickety old homespun stats. Not a great game for Mason. Amazing how much of a difference Lance's D makes. That's all I've got to say, for I've been humbled by a new generation that is quicker, faster, stronger.
Anyway, on to the numbers ...

Brian Zoubek 51-55 (-4)
Andre Dawkins 20-24 (-4)

Jon Scheyer 68-74 (-6)
Kyle Singler 72-79 (-7)
Nolan Smith 70-77 (-7)

If it's any consolation, I can't find the +/- stats for the UNC game.
