"The Atlanta Tipoff Club has announced the finalists for the 2010 Naismith Girls High School Player of the Year with Duke University signee Chelsea Gray one of five selected.
Other finalists include Kaniesha Dawson-Horn (Alabama), Bria Hartley (Connecticut), Chiney Ogwumike (Stanford) and Odyssey Sims (Baylor). The lists were determined by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors, comprised of leading basketball journalists and administrators from around the country, which based its criteria on player performances this season.
Gray, who is a 5-11 guard out of Stockton, Calif., earned the honor after guiding her St. Mary’s squad to a 25-1 overall record and a No. 1 national ranking. On the year, Gray is averaging 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 5.2 steals. "
