"The nominees for the 2010 Nancy Lieberman Award have been released with Duke University junior Jasmine Thomas one of eight selected for the prestigious award.

The finalists will be narrowed to three and then the winner will announced at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio, Texas. The criteria for the award are the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills that personified Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman during her career.

Thomas, who is from Fairfax, Va., is a John R. Wooden Award and State Farm Wade Trophy National Player of the Year candidate, after guiding the sixth-ranked Blue Devils to a 23-4 overall and 11-1 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). On the season, she is averaging 15.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.8 steals.

Other finalists are Alison Lacey (Iowa State), Nadirah McKenith (St. John’s), Samantha Prahalis (Ohio State), Sam Quigley (DePaul), Andrea Riley (Oklahoma State), Danielle Robinson (Oklahoma) and Courtney Vandersloot (Gonzaga)."
