Thought I would get it going:

"I've won 500 and whatever games and a national championship and all that is great, but this is now," said Williams, who is entering his 18th season at his alma mater with 560 career Division I victories. "In people's minds, you have to win. That's okay. I accept that challenge."

"That's the fear you have: You relax," said Williams, whose Terrapins host Boston College tonight. "And you can't relax. . . . I don't want to say, 'I'm not going to go nuts anymore because I've won a national championship.' That doesn't sound right to me."

“Discussion? There wasn’t a discussion. It was a one-way conversation about how we represent a great program that won a national championship a few years a go. We’ve been to Final Four. All those things came up, and the point was that what went on in the first half was not right."

"I don't worry about it. But I know what we've done. We've won a national championship in basketball and there are only nine active coaches coaching that have won a national championship."

2003:

After plunging into the abyss in the early 1990’s, neither Williams or Maryland basketball now need to take a back seat to any coach or program in the nation. As he watched reporters flock to new North Carolina Head Coach Roy Williams at the ACC’s recent media day, he reminded those who visited him “I’m not the other Williams. I’ve won a National Championship.”

Terrapins coach Gary Williams yesterday criticized the students' behavior.
"It's a shame because there's kids at the games," Mr. Williams said. "You get 10-, 12-year-old kids you're trying to teach certain things, and then that happens. It's not right. I don't care what the laws are. That's not right.
"We won a national championship here. We don't need that to help our program. Those people have to grow up. They're not our best fans, the people that chant that or wore the T-shirts."

"Back?" Williams said. "I don't know where we went."

"This decade, we went to the Final Four twice, won the national title and won an ACC championship," he said. "The last two seasons, we won 19 games. We had the 10th-toughest schedule in the country last year. If that's back, I mean, I guess we're back."

Gary has such an inferiority complex it's almost sad.

"I'm glad Fred said that because I've been in the league for 16 years and I know they do that," Williams said of giving the Duke-UNC games preferred treatment. "The year after [B]we won the national title, Duke-Carolina was still the ultimate game. It's always the last ACC game. It makes every other team in the league look secondary. That's what I object to. Whoever is good should get the publicity. "

"I don't buy adversity makes me a better coach," he said last night. "We won the national title a couple years ago and won 32 games. I was a pretty good coach that season."

2006:

"Well, we went 11 straight times here and we won a national championship. No other coach ever did that here. My expectations every year going in is to win as many games as you can. I don't look at making the NCAA Tournament as my benchmark. My benchmark has been being a national championship coach."

"You get criticized around here when you lose," Williams said. "That's part of the deal, I guess, when you've won a national championship (in 2002)."

I'm not sure it's Gary's inferiority complex on display in this thread.

I don't think anybody's is on display. Gary has a right to be upset at his fanbase, imo. They were ready to run him out of town just two months ago.
