A minor success. I live 10 miles from Duke but can barely pick up WDNC (the Duke flagship station) at night, and when I do it is still bad reception and out of sync with the TV (usually a few seconds ahead). However, WSFL broadcasts the game on-line with about a 10 or 15 second delay. So I took an RF transmitter to the earphone jack of my computer to send the signal to my stereo in another room (not necessary if the the computer was in the same room and had good speakers). Then having DISH network with a DVR I can run back the program a bid even on live broadcasts to get the radio and TV to work almost in sync (usually only 1 to 2 seconds off). Thus, I can now listen to Bob and watch the game. The will really be a blessing if Dickie V does any of the next games.

Awesome. I cannot wait to try this out down here in Atlanta. What's the URL for the online radio?

Should be http://wsfl.com/. I used to watch games this way, but the live stream seems to have some jitter issues so that you can start out perfectly in sync and then end up a few seconds ahead or behind.

Thanks. I'll try it out along with the DVR so I should be able to sync it up that way.

Just an FYI, but AM stations are required to cut their transmission power at sunset (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AM_broadcasting#Operation).

That, and terrain, power-transmission lines, in-wall electrical wiring, concrete structures (especially if reinforced with rebar) and even stick-frame construction can have a dramatic effect on AM-band reception.

Plus, WDNC's transmitter is north of I-85/US-70, west of Cole Mill Road.
