In the DBR article titled "Capel's Blues" it states:

It’s not enough to wear out his welcome in Norman, but it’s the kind of thing you’d want to get straightened out, not least of all at Oklahoma, where it’s taken a long time to get past the programs run by Barry Switzer and Billy Tubbs.

While I can understand the issues with Barry Switzer, what's the problem with Billy Tubbs? He built a solid program, the most successful in Oklahoma history, and he did it without any recruiting violations. If you want to look for problems with Oklahoma basketball, you can look at Tubbs' predecessor (Dave Bliss) or the man that followed him (Kelvin Sampson). But Tubbs? The worst thing you can say about him is that he's a prima donna, but that's a pretty small drawback compared with the good things he did at OU.
