Thank you for that information, Jim.

Just checked out the schedule and am happy to see that I won't have to choose between my nephew's wedding and a home football game!

Agreed, except for the Thanksgiving holiday..no students to tear down the goal posts. We'll have to do it for them and leave the posts on the quad for when they get back.

Sigh, once again i dislike this whole thing...for this very reason. It's so uncool that Wally Wade is even more of a road game vs UNC because NO STUDENTS ARE THERE!

Otherwise interesting....we play both Army AND Navy this coming year.

Sept. 4 ELON (Win)
Sept. 11 at Wake Forest (Toss)
Sept. 18 ALABAMA (Loss)
Sept. 25 ARMY (Win)
Oct. 2 at Maryland (Win)
Oct. 16 MIAMI (Loss)
Oct. 23 at Virginia Tech (Loss)
Oct. 30 at Navy (Toss)
Nov. 6 VIRGINIA (Win)
Nov. 13 BOSTON COLLEGE (Toss)
Nov. 20 at Georgia Tech (Loss)

Nov. 27 NORTH CAROLINA (Toss)

So my projection is 4-4 with 4 Toss Ups to try and pickup those 2 final wins. It might all depend on how quickly renfree gels with this offense.

Tearing down goal posts is a job for the young...and being young in spirit doesn't count. The Brunchgaters should leave the goal posts alone :).

I'd love to make it to a game again this year so I guess I'd better start planning.

I have mixed feelings.

I like it being the last game of the year. But Duke is not a state school - it is a national school. Thus students who go home for Thanksgiving can't easily come back on Friday night for a Saturday football game. That leaves us in the position of having a very small student body for our rivalry game. Expecting the student body to not spend the Thanksgiving holiday with their family seems a bad alternative.

There is no good solution, but all in all I think it would be better to have the students there.

Of course, that assumes that they would come

I think my dad and I are going to shoot for making the Alabama game. Cutliff has a knack for those SEC teams and last year was too much fun giving those Hokie fans hell for being in our stadium....Lord knows Wade will be full of crimson.

Go Duke!

They would. They come pretty well the first game of the season. And attendance the last two years has been up. A Duke-UNC game would easily surpass that and fill the student section.

Except now, the students aren't there.

Blue...show up and join the better half. That game will be a sellout..a serious every seat filled by a body sellout. I guarantee it if we beat Wake.

I love Duke Football and I was not trying to say full as in 1999 (guess) when we played ECU and they turned it into a home game, but Bama travels well.

Against VT last year, the amount of Blue was a sight to see! I loved it! What made it better was that I sat on the visitor side and I could still look around and see blue splotches amoungst the hookies.

Times have changed and showing our support is needed now more than ever. I fully expect to return to Nashville and rub the W in all their faces.

Go Duke.

I absolute LOVE this schedule. I think we've gotten some bad breaks in scheduling over the years, but this one it almost perfect:

(1) SEVEN home games!!!
(2) The UNC back where it belongs at the end of the season.
(3) The bye week in the middle of the season
(4) Alabama, the defending national champs, coming in.
(5) Only one FCS opponent and they WILL count towards a bowl

I like the way it opens. Elon should be a good warmup game (I know they are almost as good as the Richmond team we lost to in last year's opener ... still, it's a team we should beat if we are going to do anything), followed by a trip to Wake -- a team we always play close.

Then Bama -- the ultimate test and the biggest game at Wade since one of Bowden's top 5 FSU teams visited.

Then we get Army, the easiest of our FBS opponents next, to get back on our feet after a probable loss to the Tide.

Perfect schedule ... absolutely perfect.

According to the Homecoming page on the Duke Alumni web site, Homecoming is the weekend of September 24-25, the Army game.

I know that season ticket holders can only purchase single game tickets right now, but does anyone have an idea as to when the single game tickets will be open to the public? My father and I are shooting for the Alabama game. Recently, the ACC showed the game as a 3:30 PM kickoff on ABC! The stands have to be filled with blue. Thanks in advance.

That's a good question for the ticket office.
