"The difference in the game, according to Meadowbrook coach Mike Knight, was Johnson, who scored 29 points (11 of 15 from the foul line), grabbed 12 rebounds and handed out 12 assists.

"She has a great basketball IQ," Knight said. "When the game was on the line, she started going to the basket."

Wow! Is Coach P hot! Both men and women are on a recruiting roll!

At the rate she is bringing in players, is the limit on schollies for women 13 total or 13 per year?

For those of you who don't know, the scholarship limit for women's basketball is 15.

For those of you who don't know, the scholarship limit for women's basketball is 15.

OK, I didn't. Please don't explain why it is higher than the men's. I am certain I won't like the answer.

Kinda stepped on my joke though. :(

Fortunately, Coach P's recruiting is so good, she IS on pace to go over the 15 limit! (I am sure she can count)

Aren't we still in the hunt for the top post player in 2011?

for 2011 assuming no transfers. We are still in the hunt for 6'3" post Elizabeth Williams who is widely considered to be the number one prospect in the 2011 class. However, Williams is a top target for CT as well as all other major programs, so the competition is fierce. On the other hand, Ka'lia Johnson and Chloe Wells both played with Williams on the Boo Williams summer club.

I believe Duke will not take anyone other than Williams for 2011, so I think that the Knight commit effectively rules out Taylor Greenfield a 6'2" sg/sf from Iowa.

Welcome to Duke Whitney!! You're gonna love it here!!

Wow - the women Devils are going to be really good for years to come. Recruiting has a way of building on its own success. So 6'3" post Elizabeth Williams may well be attracted even more to Duke by all of this recruiting success. Clearly this is going to be an extremely good team regardless of whether she comes. But add a Williams to this group, and we're looking at consistent NC contenders. For a program that has been so close for so long, this could be the next step in the next few years.

Question, if Williams delays her decision until late, then how long do you hold out waiting for her until you offer to someone else? Is Coach P looking strong for any other top-20 type recruits?

Whitney Knight choosing Duke:

http://www2.journalnow.com/content/2010/mar/22/two-forsyth-county-stars-announce-college-choices/sports-highschool/

"Knight said Duke's style of play was a major consideration.
"They are a good defensive team," Knight said. "I can play defense, and they like to push the ball and they have a lot of guards that can shoot 3s. I think going to Duke is going to challenge me a lot to play hard and fast and play defense.""

In regards to elizabeth williams, i have seen her play multiple times as my mom is a teacher at her school. she is deff been recruited by ct and tenn as i have seen geno and pat summit at multiple games. she has said in an interview with a local tv station that she is not making a decision yet and will wait till this summer to focus on her recruitment. however a big thing that i believe duke has going for them is that i know a couple of her friends and they have all said that most importantly she wants to be a doctor and go to a school with a good medical program :)
