I know it's early and things will change considerably but Duke plays (or has played) the following:

#1
#3
#4
#8
#10
#14
2x #19

Quite a schedule!

Plus they play #7 five times a week during intrasquad scrimmages.

Out of curiosity, is there anything to prohibit Duke from practicing regularly with another team? It would never happen of course, but if Duke were to scrimmage against UNC every week, that would be some amazing training in either MBB or WBB. The problem with intrasquad scrimmages is either you split up your best players, or you practice against weaker competition.

I hold that for the last couple of years, any ACC team already has one of the toughest schedules built in. Then add in who Duke chooses to play, and we have had the toughest schedule in the country a couple seasons in a row. (To their credit, unc plays some top tiers as well, but not as many as Duke). This goes back to G's days, and I was very happy to see Coach P keep our schedule even tougher than what Gail had come up with.

This has been true of Duke, with home-and-home series against UNC and Maryland each year. It may or may not be true of another ACC school, thanks to the bizarrely unbalanced 14-game schedule.

Even without the home - home, any ACC team is going to face their share of ranked teams, which includes (in the AP, the coaches is similar)
7.Duke
11. unc
12. Florida State
19. Virginia
25. Maryland
and just outside at 26, Georgia Tech.
So that's 6 teams, I guarantee you no other conference has that many. And the ACC does it with regularity thanks to the improved programs at FSU and GT.

Coach P rocks!:)

If Coach P keeps this up, I'm gonna forget all about how much I miss Coach G...well, at least spend less time pining after her in that creepy, middle-aged American male sortof way.
