From the ACC.

"Duke’s Nolan Smith has been named ACC Player of the Week while Georgia Tech’s Derrick Favors garnered ACC Rookie of the Week honors.

Smith averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds as the eighth-ranked Blue Devils posted wins over Charlotte and Radford. On the week, Smith shot 56 percent (15-of-27) from the field, including 60 percent (6-of-10) from three-point range.

The Upper Marlboro, Md., native had a career-high 24 points, five rebounds and five assists in Tuesday’s 101-59 win over Charlotte. In Saturday’s 104-67 victory over Radford, the junior guard finished with 20 points, seven assists and three rebounds."

Quite impressive stats for Nolan. I have a feeling this is not the last time Showtime will get Player of the Week this season.

WOW two games and one ACC Player of the Week honors. It looks like the Games/ACC POW ratio is quite impressive for Nolan. CONGRATS!! :)

Well deserved, Nolan! But if the ACC had waited 45 minutes they would have found out that we are not ranked 8th, but 7th, in the AP and (apparently) the Coaches' polls this week.

Way to go Nolan. All the hard work is showing in the improvement in your game.

If he plays this way all year there are good things ahead for this team. His playing like this takes the team to another level.

Too bad Andre did not get Best Freshman of the Week. Would have been a nice sweep of the 2 awards.. Although with Jon, Kyle, Nolan, Andre, and Mason, I think we will have lots of chances to sweep those two honors as the season moves along.

Congratulations Nolan! Keep it up and thank you for your leadership. Duke is going to be hard to beat when you're up, in attack mode, and putting that ball in the hoop!

Go for it! Show us what you can do this season!
