French and Irish fall out over ‘box’ incident (http://irishsoccerinsider.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/french-and-irish-fall-out-over-box-incident/)
The French seem a bit... short-tempered ;)
p.s. I have been told this is a fake, as "Rue de Blaguer" is roughly translated as "Joke Street." but still funny

I hope that is real, because I think it is hilarious. However, I have this feeling it will be exposed as a hoax.

From all accounts, this is in fact real. It's all over the soccer blogs and media today. Hilarious!

not like "awesome" as in "the universe and parallel universes are "awesome"......

Problems of this ... stature ... aren't easily resolved.

Alas, it was too good to be true (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8359004.stm).

Ah, but tis the beauty of being Irish, it remains true in our hearts and in our laughter.
The French First Lady is still most certainly welcome, but do not be blaming the Irish if she chooses not to leave :D

Nice to see the BBC with a sense of humor in their reporting. Rather than calling it a "spoof or a joke" they called it a tall tale!

Sorry, I guess I hid my spoiler text a little too well. The blue text was in white in the original post.

Is "de Blaguer" the source of the verb "to blog"?
I believe they each are derived from "to blave" and as we all know, to blave means to bluff, heh?
It is strange that the Irish, who count the Leprechaun amongst their ranks, would belittle others.

We all realize that this is just a little joke.

Absolutely fabulous. If only it were real. God bless Ireland!
