Miami sophomore quarterback Jacory Harris and Duke senior quarterback Thaddeus Lewis share this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Back of the Week honor to headline a list of ACC Players of the Week, announced today. Both Harris (three) and Lewis (two) have earned Offensive Back of the Week accolades on multiple occasions this season.

Lewis is joined on the list by teammates Will Snyderwine, a junior placekicker who earned Specialist of the Week honors and was tabbed as one of three Lou Groza Stars of the Week, and freshman Connor Vernon, who earned Rookie of the Week honors as he established two school single-season records against Virginia. Florida State junior guard Rodney Hudson is making his second showing as the Offensive Lineman of the Week.

Such wonderful news! Having three Duke football players honored by the conference for Week 9 of the season is a welcome change indeed.

I wish the game times for November 14 could be determined as readily.

I'm actually surprised Thad got the mention (300 yards against a great pass D on the road yes, but 1 TD, 1 INT isn't usually the thing that voters like). I wonder if his reputation is giving him a boost :-)

Snyderwine...wow, when was the last time we had a guy win specialist of the week for FG kicking?!?!?!

And Vernon...well, he's just super special. Sean Renfree better know how good he's getting next year when he has Vernon (and Varner) as weapons to throw to.

Is Snyderwine still a walk-on? I think he's earned a scholarship!

10/11 FGA, 18/18 XP

In his entire high school career, by the way, he was 9/10 on FGs.

How about this for a trio:

Coach of the Year: Cutcliffe

Player of the Year: Thaddeus Lewis

Freshman of the Year: Vernon/Varner

Well, Donovan Varner is actually a soph, so that award goes to Vernon by default...otherwise I would love to see that trio of honors, but it'll take a pretty good end of the season to get there! For now I'll just worry about this game coming up this weekend...GTHC!

Snyderwine played soccer in HS and did dual duty his senior year with football.
