Do you feel this is a positive thing (K adapting to the personnel), a negative thing (K won't be playing Duke basketball), or just a thing?

I personally like the idea of a 3/2, box and 1, or match up zone. A starting line up of Smith, Scheyer, Singler, MP1, & MP2 may be best suited for zone defense which could allow K to take advantage of the size and athleticism across the board.

They will still run out of the zone, so that will be fun. The motion offense as opposed to the traditional drive and dish will be interesting as well. Mixing in these concepts will make it more difficult to prepare for them. Penetrating guards have always given them trouble (they give every team trouble), so it will be interesting to see if the zones they use will be helpful in this area. I like the idea of Duke operating a little differently than we are used to seeing. It could be similar to a football team that plays strict man to man switching to a cover 2 at times - keeping the opposing QB confused. Man, how great must it be to be a member of this team and having all these concepts drilled in?

Rebounding out of a zone is the hardest thing to teach kids to do. But with our size I don't look for that to be a big problem. This just gives the other team more to prepare for. A little of this and a little of that. Go Coach K and Go Duke!
