Shane has shown over the years that he is one class acts in the NBA. He is a great role model, and it's players like him that make me proud to be a Duke fan!

Worth quoting--

I mention that Battier thinks he might not be remembered 20 minutes after he's gone.

“They're going to remember him when he becomes president,” Adelman said.

There's your Duke stereotype. Just because the Duke guys are smart, polite and darn near perfect, everyone thinks they'll end up in the White House.

For the record, Battier hasn't decided what he'll do when he's done playing. What he'd like is a few more moments like last spring when the Rockets came together after McGrady was injured, got to the second round of the playoffs and pushed the Lakers to seven games before being eliminated.

“I left very fulfilled,” Battier said.

I'm still hoping that players at Duke will someday remember him as Coach Battier.
