It is WONDERFUL to see Shane's professional achievements recognized with this level of distinction. He remains my favorite Dukie, based far more on character, leadership and intelligence than on athletic performance alone (and, PLEASE, this a NOT implied criticism of any other Duke player).

I remember getting to go to one of the games where Shane was playing on the 2001 team. The guy makes an impression, and is the kind of stand-up guy that no one is going to say negative things about. Even (sane) Holes fans will admit that Shane is one of the classiest players in history.

I can't wait to see him come play against my Wizards on my birthday next year.

Great article; Shane winning three NDPOY awards was one of the top Duke basketball achievements ever, in my opinion. A great, classy rep for our school and my own favorite Dukie ever.

I would definitely have to agree with that. Shane is one of a kind, on and off the court.

Good to see Shane getting deserved praise. But the top 2 on the list should be Duncan #1 and Garnett #2.
