Howsabout a thread displaying our toys?

Here's my '09 Vette. This base coupe has 436 h.p., does the 1/4 @ 12.4 sec., and goes @186 m.p.h. It's the entry level Vette but all I need on the street.

Let's take it up a couple levels. Show us your Blue Devil. :)

Heh, ironic that the person starting the thread talking about "Show us your Blue Devil" happens to own the base car of the actual Blue Devil;)

Lemme see if I have any photos on this new PC of my Mustang.

Someone here can probably take it up a couple levels (base, then Z06, then ZR1) and show us pics of their ZR1 (Blue Devil).

I am not sure there will be one of those here, but we can always keep our fingers crossed!

No luck so far with finding a photo... I've got a 2000 Mustang GT convert with a fully rebuilt, blown engine, heavy duty tranny, suspension, brakes, exhaust, gears, wheels and tires, fuel system... the works:) Puts out 420+ hp to the rw on the dyno, so figure about 500 or so at the motor. Car can scoot! I'll keep looking for photos:)

OK, I confess. I don't own this toy. (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/uptospeed/2009/08/bentley-debuts-their-allnew-mulsanne.html) But Jeffrey, you can always trade the 'vette for it when you decide you'd like to baby your posterior. :)

When I was driving through NC and SC yesterday, I saw a couple of sporty coupes that had a shield with a TT in it. They were NOT the Audi TT, the TT appeared to be the make symbol. I tried to google it, but all it brought up was the Audi. Does anyone know what car that is?

Thanks.

No ideas... the Audi is the only car I know which carries that badge... are you sure it wasn't an Audi? They look very different now than they used to. Otherwise I have no idea; there are very few twin turbo cars around, and I cannot imagine what else that might be used for.

Definitely wasn't THAT. ;) But I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Audi, cause the Audi's have the Audi symbol with the circles, then say "TT" to the side. The TT on this car was ON the shield in the middle of the trunk and hood where the "make" of a car is generally, then said something else over to the side where the "model" is usually denoted.

My tastes run a little more classic. I'd love to pick up one of these:

Not red though, maybe white on black, or racing green.

Could it have been a car from Tesla Motors?

Could it have been a car from Tesla Motors?

It wasn't that fancy. It was a coupe type vehicle, though it was definitely sporty. The symbol was a fancy shield shape with a lot of blue and red. I've seen them before, but I think for some reason it's british.

One T is higher than the other, and the cross of the lower, right T crosses through the upright of the first T. I tried to make it here, but the thing is screwy on DBR and won't let me string together spaces. I'll try with periods:

________
.....|
..._|______
.....|..|
.....|..|

The lines in the real one were obviously straight.

The first thing I thought of was the Hyundai Tuscani logo:

I've only seen that kind of car twice. Once when I was at Duke, driving along I-85 north of Durham (about twelve years ago), and then last weekend, driving on I-95 south of Raleigh. I wonder if it could have been the same one? It was the same color. A royal blue.

Hm, baffled by the car, and I am rarely, if ever, baffled by cars:) I suppose if it were something like an Alfa I might not know what it is. As for British cars, there aren't many around anymore...

Closest I could come is this...

... but it is a military badge.

I'll keep thinking:)

bjornolf

That's close to what it looked like, though the lower T is a bit lower, about bi-secting the upper one's upright. I THINK the Ts were blue, but I'm not 100% on that. There was definitely blue and red and a little white on the shield.

Nice stable. So this is how to invest in a recession. My fleet (2 cars) has a combined 574 hp, barely more than the CTS-V.

Jeffrey

So this is how to invest in a recession.

:D Well, yes. For many years, most dealers marked both of those cars over MSRP. Even my '09 V had an additional dealer mark-up of $5,000 affixed to the window sticker. I got the set for more than 15% off MSRP in an all cash deal.

Cash always wears a crown, but it's shining brighter right now.

That is an insane amount of HP for a car like that. My old neighbor was the director of media relations for Mercedes for North America for a bunch of years; I remember getting rides in all the new AMG models before anyone else had seen them... some incredible cars in there!

I don't have a toy of my own to match up, here. But a coworker recently brought in a friend's Mercedes E63 AMG. We went out for a spin.:eek::eek: That thing is just a kick in the pants when you lay on the accelerator. Even with the traction control on, he was still spinning the wheels when laying on the gas.

I think this provides a great example of a true friend. A true friend is someone you can loan your E63 AMG to.

I certainly do not want this to be a "match up" and any toy (car, boat, bike, stereo, TV, etc.) would be a nice addition to this thread.

And, I hear ya.... the E63 AMG rocks!

Here is my baby, along with all the work I've done.

http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/6352/car6zy5.jpg (http://img25.imageshack.us/i/car6zy5.jpg/)

Rebuilt 4.6 with Manley rods/pistons, Cobra crank.
Vortech S trim supercharger with a smaller pulley.
Fuel system (mass air, 255 intank pump, lines, etc)
Steeda suspension kit.
Some Kenny Brown bits (subframes etc.)
Rebuilt heavy duty 5 speed tranny.
King Cobra clutch.
Baer brakes.
3.73 gears
Steeda Tri-ax short throw shifter
Bassani/Flowmaster exhaust.
75mm Throttle body
17 by 9 and 17 by 11 (315) wheels.
Alumn. driveshaft.
A bit of a stereo and base tube and the rest.
Chip and a fairly moderate tune... blew it up once already, don't want to do it again.
Some random stuff like the mach 1 front end spoiler, Mach 1 shift knob, trick mustang tire valve caps, real hood pins, rosewood interior pieces, billet gas cap, white face gauges and all that, emblems... a bunch of little finishing things.

I think I am forgetting stuff, but at this point, there is a lot to forget...

Makes 420+ hp to the rear, which translates to the 500 ballpark.

Fear not, the back license plate holder is a Duke one.

Oh, and I am never car stumped, but this one has me beat.

*laugh* The one or two times a year I drive it to work, the kids see it in the parking lot and freak out:)

It is a 2000 Mustang GT convert... with about 23 miles on it it went immediately to True Blue Performance in Raleigh, where they did the first wave of basic work (the blower, gears, suspension, exhaust.) After a few years of living in NC I came back up to NJ (sound like a typical Dukie, right?) where the next wave of work (rebuilt engine, rebuilt tranny, clutch, fuel system, wheels/tires/brakes, more suspension) was done. Along the way, scattered in there, was some little stuff, like bolting on the 99 hood scoop, getting the hood pins done, getting the striping done...

Basically I bought it to mod it; started on day 1, and haven't really stopped yet... although with a house, wife, and new bathroom, I am done for the foreseeable future... or at least until I dump the parts into the body of a '64 Shelby Cobra:)

I put about 16,000 miles on it in the first sixth months as it was a daily driver; I've put on another 7,000 miles in the last eight years (stupid trips to NC added half of that)... for a grand total of about 23,000 miles, only 3,000 of which are on the new motor.

I've never brought it to the track, as I have no cage, and most tracks require a cage if a car will break 12.99 or something similar... however, it goes like heck, especially when the Nittos are hot and sticky:) Of course, if I had known that 3 lousy years later the '03 Cobra was coming, I might have waited...

I think there were a number of trim differences from the 94 to the 95. I know when I went to buy some bulbs and other small stuff that the two years called for some different parts. I also have lousy (virtually unusable) cupholders.

Did the bottom part break off? That happened to mine within a year of getting it. A dealer (I think Crown Volvo) replaced it for free once but that broke again before I sold it. A/C was another thing that gave me trouble, but I figured you can't really expect Swedes to build an A/C that would last in the U.S. South
