An appropriately cool and grey day here in Chicago. The northern suburbs are in mourning.

Age 59? His movies were all about life coming at you too fast, but not this way.

Agreed. Sad to hear. I thought of Hughes when I biked past Ferris Bueller's mom's office last night on the way home.

He took a segment of America during that time period and really pinned it down like a butterfly display. I would imagine his films still speak to teens today, but more importantly they're some of the most representative bits of nostalgia out there for anyone between about 35 and 45.
