Coach Josh Pastner secured a solid recruiting class for Memphis in the aftermath of John Calipari's exit to Kentucky. But he is losing the jewel of his 2009 class Latavious Williams to a professional career overseas.

Interesting...did Brandon Jennings start a trend?

Do you a link or background story on this?

Makes me wonder if he had qualified.

Thanks for the link, but that says exactly what Dave said. No new info unless you subscribe. The qualification question is a good one.

Could be some truth to the academics. This is from April and it appears it was already on the table. Guess Memphis will still do what they have to do to get recruits...

How many other schools have a Fed Ex backer to help the kids along the way?:)

I may be mistaken but wasn't Williams originally ranked in the 2008 class but ended up going to a prep school for an additional year of "learning"?

Yep, he was the #16 PF for the Class of 2008 (4-star), according to scout:

I mean, certainly a solid recruit, but not a program changing one by any stretch of the imagination.
