I love these commercials.

Police often question him just becasue they find him interesting.

He once had an awkward moment just to see how it feels.

He lives vicariously through himself.

His organ donation card lists his beard.

I find the notion that the most interesting man in the world would drink dos equis offensive

He is played by actor Jonathan Goldsmith (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0326091/), whose career was pretty much a guest spot on every iconic 80s drama until this commercial gig for Dos Equis.

He was on McGuyver, Dallas, Murder She Wrote, Highway to Heaven, Magnum PI, Knight Rider, Knotts Landing, St. Elsewhere, Dynasty, Trapper John MD... the list is endless.

Rockford, Barnaby Jones and Eischied. Cool. And Manimal. Manimal! That's a show I had completely forgotten. He is the most interesting man.

For some reason, even though I know they are stupid, these make me laugh almost every time.

Me too. Stay thirsty, my friend.

911 calls him in an emergency.
When he rolls a stone, it gathers moss.
He's won the same lifetime achievement award twice.
Waiters tip him.
He once tried to shave his beard and cut the razor.

He is ... the Most Interesting Man in the World.

That's my favorite line.

And I love the image of him helping the fox to escape the hounds chasing it.

I thought Patrick Davidson was the most interesting man in the world!

Wonderful line of ads. The sell is so subtle it inevitably appeals to jaded cynical Gen X-ers and younger. He doesn't even drink beer all that often, he's too cool for that! That part of the pitch is pure brilliance. Seth Stephenson, Slate's ad reviewer, likes these, too ... http://www.slate.com/id/2218849/

All that said, while it's a great campaign, none of the individual Dos Equis ads can hold a candle to this current spot, quite possibly the greatest beer commercial of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfZ0UC-VxGI I've seen this at least 20 times now and I still laugh.

Is it me, or does this all sound a lot like Chuck Norris.

Perhaps he is related to Chuck?

Chuck Norris became the most uninteresting man in the world when he got into politics.

Chuck Norris isn't the most interesting. He is the epitome of masculinity. And I wasn't around for Patrick Davidson threads so I wouldn't know.

How does one get an interview for the position of Most Interesting Man in the World?

(and with that question its obvious I don't qualify)

If you have to ask, you'll never know.

The thing that cracks me up is that he starts his famous line with "I don't always drink beer, but when I do..."

So, to hc5duke, maybe he only drinks like one XX a year or something. ;)

I fear that I am now taking this thread on-topic by linking a basketball article (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Stephon-Marbury-is-the-most-interesting-man-in-t?urn=nba,177971)but...

Stephon Marbury is the Most Interesting Man in the World (according to Ball Don't Lie).
