USA defeated Brazil 110-82 in our opening game of the FIBA Americas U16 Championship being held in Mendoza, Argentina. Here is a game recap (http://www.fibaamericas.com/noticiasread_us.asp?r=ACIVJRGIHW) and box score (http://www.fibaamericas.com/fnabox.asp?g=A&n=2&r=7039). These international tournaments are a great opportunity for high school players to represent their country and play against solid competition in structured games. For us basketball junkies, it is a great opportunity to follow recruits. I encourage all to checkout the tournament website (http://www.fibaamericas.com/torneos1_us.asp?t=BPHOGTQBLI).

Here is a more in depth write-up from USA Basketball (http://www.usabasketball.com/news.php?news_page=09_mu16_game_01). Five USA players scored in double figures including familiar names such as James McAdoo, Quinn Cook, and Brad Beal.

Good to see the US more or less dominate. I know Duke has some interest in McAdoo, and he plays AAU ball with a couple of our 2010 guys. I don't know much about any of the really young guys though.
