Granted it's the end of the school year. Duke is the first school to offer Jordan's T.J. Thorpe a scholarship, but won't be the last. For an interesting article on him and his thoughts on college, read it here (http://www.highschoolot.com/content/blogpost/5148956/). Sounds like a kid with goals that Duke strives for in it's students.
I'd love to see a guy from my old high school playing Duke football.

In the article he does express his desire to play both football and basketball. From what I understand from a Durham Public Schools basketball player that I know pretty well, Thorpe is a good enough basketball player to be looking for a situation that will allow both - he will probably get offers for both sports. It will be interesting to see what, if any, impact this has on his decision.

I love the fact that Coach Cut is continuing to recruit hard locally. That is a very good idea for several reasons. For one thing it helps put fans in the seats, and helps build the local fanbase. I think it's great and I hope he keeps it going....

Go Cut and Go Duke!
