WG: Duke battling back in ACC Championship

Now in 2nd place, 17 shots behind Wake; team has been short-handed since freshman Mina Harigae turned pro after 1st semester; in addition, Yu Young Lee was out sick on Friday as only 4 players competed and Duke ended the day in 5th place.

The great Amanda Blumenhurst is leading the charge back; they're well behind, but you don't want to bet against this group.

Well, the streak ended.

Duke finished 3rd behind Wake and (ugh) UNC. Amanda birdied the final hole to tie for the individual lead, but lost in the first playoff hole to a Wake golfer.

Congrats to Coach Brooks and his teams for a truly amazing run over the years; 13 consecutive ACC championships is incredible.

Congrats to Amanda Blumenhurst as she finishes a terrific career with NCAA play coming up. She ranks as one of the finest student-athletes in Duke history.
