DBR's little blurb is not accurate. Mark Fox, UGA's new head coach, has not contacted Favors. He contacted Favors' coach, which makes sense since Fox needs to build up some recruiting contacts in Ga, and South Atlanta is a traditional basketball power house. In fact, Favors' coach specifically said he didnt talk about Favors:

"Did Fox ask about Favors? Did he mention his name at least once? “No, he didn’t really ask about Derrick,” Reddick said."

Yes, that was definitely a non-story with headlines to make it seem like a story.

I agree. Maybe they were implying though that it was more of a Roy move. 'He just called to see how I was doing' sort of thing. No, he didn't mention recruiting Favors, and I think it would be stupid if he tried, but it's possible he was setting up initial contact. I'm also not aware of what kind of interest Favors had in GA. Maybe it was a close decision but I'm guessing not.
