Highly amusing. He leads in 48 states and loses 2 states, INCLUDING the one in which he actually coaches.

Truth is, neither he nor any future Duke coach will ever win over the natives. It was that way when I was a kid in the Charlotte area; not familiar with basketball at the time, all I heard about was Carolina, with a few people supporting NC State and Clemson. (Granted, this was around 1981-1982.) I'd never heard of Duke.

But it's probably been that way since before Dean Smith. Seeking national recognition is the smarter way to go.

It's pretty much a dead heat in NC. I don't see where to actually vote.

Poll is on the front page for those that want to vote.

Check the results for KY. For all the Duke-esp-Laettner-hatred in KY, they respect K. And they remember his tribute to Cawood Ledford. I'd guess if Billy Clyde goes down the tubes there, a few mad Cats will include K's name at top of list. Or Capel. Or Dawkins.

Since that screen shot, it looks like Roy has crept back in to the North Carolina lead. With 5,841 votes from the state, Roy is now up 45% to K's 43%.

C'mon skewers. Work needs to be done. Use all computers available to you. Multiple browsers. Use the computers at the public library! Whatever you can think of. Vote frequently. Time's a-wastin'!

Those of us outside North Carolina can't do much good there, but we can up the count nationally.

I'm placing a call to Nate Silver right now to see where this will end.

Wow, a Reaganesque showing for the guy who's lost more championship games than anyone else in history. I don't blame people in Connecticut for picking a guy who's 2-0 over a guy who's 3-4. (Roy is 1-2, or 0-1 with his own players.)

Like beating Georgia Tech should count. .5, maybe.

Roy is 0-2 with his own players, yes? Boeheim is 1-2.

Knight I believe is 3-0, and he's tanned, rested and ready. Or at least tanned. There's your pick.

I counted '91 as Larry Brown's players. But as long as we're half-counting things you can half-count that.

Funny how there's no billy dunnavan or rick pitino option. I'm pretty sure '96 happened, but I'm not so sure about '06 or '07.

Ok, I know there's prejudice, but what is up with Connecticut with 60% Jim Calhoun? Though that isn't the best choice, look at Ol' Roy with 8%! :) :)

I can't tell how close the Great Coach and the Not-so-great-in-fact-pretty-dagnabit Coach were before.... But at 9:26 pm ET, in NC Coach K has 42% with Old What's His Name at 47.

Come on, Blue Devils... use as many browsers as you have. Let's get K where he belongs! ;)

I find it rather fitting that they can't get it right in North Carolina. Just goes to specifically point out the ignorance of the UNC fans. To be quite honest I'm impressed with how much of a % Coach K actually has in NC. And nationwide...well that's just impressive! I thought UNC was a nationwide thing...but it appears Coach K is bigger!

Coach K has the lead in NY over Boehiem, maybe Madison Square Garden is a home game for us. I hate it when Calipari is right LOL
