Here is a good article discussing the Duke unc rivalry and what it means to the sport, ratings during the tournament, and advertising. I didn't see it on the front page so I figured I would share.

To paraphrase Chazz Michael Michael: "We ARE college basketball! BOOM!"

I loved this comment on the Big Ten, even if it does quote ol' Roy:

"While much of college basketball is a desert of walk-it-up sluggishness, the Heels and Blue Devils are an oasis of up-tempo, fun-to-watch play. At the ACC tournament last week, Mr. Williams remarked that the Tar Heels' victory over Virginia Tech was "an ugly game." The final score was 79-76, a point total that exceeded every Big Ten intra-conference game this season except one."

Ouch! The irony is that John Wooden learned the up-tempo game from Piggy Lambert at Purdue, and Wooden in turn has influenced much of what has occurred in college basketball during the last thirty years, except of course in the Big Ten.
