I like the new radio show.
It was very interesting to listen to the "Playcaller" discuss the improvements that he would like to see in officiating, and while I have no beef with what he said, I must comment as follows.
To me, the officials in the NBA do not represent what I want to see in the college game. Hardly a game goes by, and I have been watching them "forever," when one of the announcers says, "He did not get that call because he is a rookie/partime player/not a star." That is so very wrong and distracts from the game. Rules are rules. Break 'em and get a whistle. Everyone who reads these posts and who is a fan knows exactly what I mean.
Please do not officiate college games like the NBA. I suspect that is not what the "playcaller" was suggesting, but I worry that we are headed in that direction, particularly if the "suggested guideline" are adopted.
