Going back to the FSU game (where Gerald seemed to take off and Jon seemed to begin a funk)

First 14 games - 13-1
Next 11 games - 7-4 (yes, I know the second 11 games were against more difficult teams)

Jon -- 1st 14 -- 9 FGA a game, 4 3ptA a game, 47% FG, 41% 3 pt
(43% of shots attempted were 3 pointers)

Jon -- 2nd 11 -- 10 FGA a game, 6 3ptA a game, 29% FG, 30% 3pt
(57% of shots attempted were 3 pointers)

Gerald -- 1st 14 -- 9 FGA a game, 3 3ptA a game, 62% FG, 42% 3pt
Gerald -- 2nd 11 -- 15 FGA a game, 4 3ptA a game, 52% FG, 34% 3pt

Kyle -- 1st 14 -- 12 FGA a game, 4 3ptA a game, 48% FG, 35% 3pt
Kyle -- 2nd 11 -- 14 FGA a game, 5 3ptA a game, 39% FG, 34% 3pt

Nolan -- 1st 14 -- 8 FGA a game, 3 3ptA a game, 46% FG, 34% 3pt
Nolan -- 2nd 11 -- 6 FGA a game, 2 3ptA a game, 38% FG, 35% 3pt

My own puny attempts to break this down:

Gerald's shots went up, Jon's offense went down.
Jon's 3 pt attempts as a percentage of total shots attempted are way out of skew.

Everyone's shooting percentage, including Gerald's, dropped about 10 percentage points.

Gerald shooting more is good. However, it takes him out of the offensive rebounding equation.

These big four averaged 14 3pt attempts a game combined in the first 14 games. They averaged 16 3pt attempts a game combined in the last 11 games. This, despite the fact that they have consistently had a mediocre 3 point percentage (not bad, just not good). Every 3 pointer that they take also means that they are a rebounding threat.

Kyle is the team's leading rebounder. In addition, he has been taking 3 pointers on close to 40% of his shots.

All this, plus the great read on Battier, makes me realize -- we are not bad. We are badly out of synch. We need to just find harmony - take the shots at the right time.

Thoughts?
