...make'm here folks.

I predict Steelers in a rout, all because the Cards will be the home team in red jerseys. if they would wear those white ones with the red shoulders I'd give'm a good chance to win yet still lean to Pittsburgh.

It'll be a KO in the 8th round...

I think that Warner has been over-hyped by the media and gets the PAIN from the Steelers. Steelers 20 Cards 10. Though i'd prefer to see the cards win, being the underdog and a smaller market team.

I predict that..... no one really cares and everyone is just watching the commercials. :D

No really. I was very impressed with Fitzgerald against my Eagles. All they need are a couple of big catches by him and he breaks this open. The guy is taller and can jump higher than anyone in the league.

I'll go out on a limb and say Cards 24-20.

I think the Cardinals are going to struggle to maintain the "underdog-us-against-the-world" mentality. Yes, they are vegas underdogs. But, plenty of the media is taking them. Further, the media coverage of the Super Bowl has been predominately of Arizona with Pittsburgh being the "other team" in Tampa. I don't think Pittsburgh uses that at motivation--the Steelers don't need extra motivation--I just think Arizona has a tough time believing the "underdog" status.

As to the game, Pittsburgh won't take the Cardinals passing game lightly like the Eagles did in the first half of the NFC Title Game (leaving Fitz in one-on-one coverage). He will be doubled, and probably bumped within five yards by a LB to re-route him. This will disrupt the timing of Arizona's offense and allow the Steelers' blitzes to get pressure on Warner. One of the advantages of playing a 3-4 (and, Pittsburgh really plays a 3-4.5 with Troy) is that you can designate a LB to Fitzgerald and still have three left to blitz. If Harrison and Woodley get free paths to Warner, it could get ugly. He's been known to fumble the football quite a bit on hits and no one is better at stripping from the QB than Harrison.

On offense, I expect Pittsburgh to run the football well. I keep hearing that neither Carolina nor Philadelphia were able to run against Arizona and, therefore, Pittsburgh will struggle to do so as well. I don't buy it. Both the Panthers and Eagles fell behind by large margins early in the game. This--and not the Cardinals defense--took away the running game. If Pittsburgh can avoid that, Willie Parker should go for 100+. I also expect Heath Miller to have a big game against a defense that does not handle TEs well. The combination of Parker and Miller as threats will allow Santonio Holmes and Nate Washington to make big plays down the field.

Finally, it will be a home game for the Steelers. No team travels like the Steeler faithful and RJ Stadium will be covered with black and gold.

Steelers 27 Cardinals 17

i predict the 7-layer dip will be gone by halftime leaving a disproportionate amount of SCOOPS tostitos....

My uniform reasoning involves eyesight. Those away jerseys make their defensive secondary disappear to the eye, when the QB is looking for his targets downfield.

There is a reason why most highway patrol cars have a black/silver color scheme.

Steelers 20
Cardinals 17

Jeff Reed connects on a late field goal to win it.

I predict that the team with the most points will win. And that the commercials will disappoint.

(I'm rooting for the Steelers.)

Around hour 6 of NBC's pregame show, Will Ferrell said that the Steelers would win on a "dramatic safety" in double overtime. Final score: 2-0.

I'll be the second contrarian on this thread and say Cardinals, 30-17.

i'd prefer to see the cards win, being the underdog and a smaller market team.

Surprisingly enough, Pittsburgh has the smaller market (though certainly a larger fan base):

The Phoenix area is the home to 4.2 million people.

The Pittsburgh metro area hosts 2.4 million.

Since 2000, the Phoenix area has grown by nearly a million people. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, has lost 100,000 residents.

The underdog here is the rusting city of three rivers. Although, the city is making a comeback of sorts...

Ten bucks says Pittsburgh comes back. Every team I ever pull for in the SB loses.

I hate the NFL and always say I'll never watch the SB. Still, every year I pick a team to pull for and turn the game on in the early 4th.

Hope Harrison doesn't get MVP after that personal foul.

Thank God the lamest sport in the world is over and we can concentrate on BBall!

I'm really surprised that last play wasn't reviewed.

So was I. I wanted the Steelers to win - but no review feels wrong.

The couple of replays they showed indicated to me at least that Warner was moving the ball forward before contact was made. Was it part of the throwing motion? Maybe. Certainly merited a review.
