To leave Jack Buck off the 50 best announcers makes this list not credible. Another name left off was Harry Carey. These two men were two of the best baseball announcers ever. I did not care for: Howard Cosell, Al McGuire and Brent Musburger. Personally I would have Bob Harris on the list. The others are ok. Go Duke!

Well, it does say "Network" TV announcers. Harry Carey was generally an announcer for a particular team; I don't know if he did any network stuff. Jack Buck did, but he is remembered as the voice of the Cardinals. Most of the other great long-time announcers for one baseball team weren't on the list either (Ernie Harwell, Harry Kalas, Jack Brickhouse). There are some crossovers, and some who were mostly for a team, but also did network stuff, who made this list (Vin Scully, Mel Allen).

Anyone who's ever listened to a Cincinnati Reds game knows that Marty Brennaman is one of the best - would have loved to have seen him make the list. Although his son, Thom, made the worst announcer list.

Anybody else think Gus Johnson could end up top 20 one day? I do.

I only saw one Dukie on either list. Are we trying hard enough?

My top goes to Ray Scott. When I was learning what football was, he was football.
