Who was the Man of the Match vs. Davidson?

This was a real team effort. I thought Jon carried us at the end, but Kyle carried us for the first 25 - 30 minutes. He seemed to guard everyone, made huge baskets, played great defense. Zoubek and Thomas continued their one-two punch in the post to great effect. G was hobbled with fouls early, but set the tone at the beginning of the second half and was instrumental in getting us a comfortable lead. Guard play was a little shaky. Curry stayed contained in the first half, and despite his 29 (season average), most of them came after the game was in hand.

I voted for Scheyer. Singler was a beast early, but it was Scheyer who stepped up late in the game to thwart Davidson's comeback attempt. The 3 he hit in the late second half w/ the Crazies chanting "Our House" was the definition of clutch - it gave me chills, and really made me wish Dickie V were there yelling "OHHH HE'S A PTPer BABBBYYYYY!" He gets on my nerves sometimes but I do love his enthusiasm.
Oh, and I almost forgot: Congrats to Jon on reaching the 1,000 point plateau.

Jon Scheyer earns my vote. He steadied the team late with a big shot and some free throws. I'm really comfortable having Jon handle the ball late in a game due to his decision making acumen and solid free throw stroke.

While Singler played great, Scheyer gets my vote for all his plays and for taking care of the ball in a game where there were a lot of turnovers.

Jon was a maniac, no doubt. Just everywhere and the defense he played in Curry was beautiful.

To Curry's credit, he didn't whine or posture. He just got beat.

I voted for Jon, but wouldn't you perhaps agree the 'play' of the game (or at least the play that made you finally exhale after shaking your head for eight minutes of game time) was Lance Thomas (that's, um, 51% FT shooting Lance Thomas shooting a one-and-one) knocking down two free throws with 2:41 to play?

Jon played smarter and with more control than anyone on the court tonight.

I voted for Kyle. He was a beast the first half and pretty good in the second. Jon was huge the last 10 minutes and they both scored 22 (and both missed FT's on their last trips to the line or would have had 23 each).

Not too surprisingly for this season, it comes down to Jon and Kyle. I tipped for Jon tonight.

Jon gave what the team needed when the team needed it. As usual.

He was more efficient tonight. 22 points on 11 FGA, 4 assists to 1 TO, 3 REB, 3 STL. Singler was great as well, but he was second-fiddle last night.

I voted for McClure. His D in the critical time when Davidson had closed it to 8 won the game for us.

I opted for Jon based on his uncanny ability to see things before they happen. He made so many subtle brilliant plays on defense that resulted in TOs. Add that to his solid offensive output, and I had to give him the slight edge over Singler. Jon did give me one head-scratcher moment when he pulled the ball back on the 3 on 1 break. Very un-Scheyer like. I'll let that one slide though. ;)

McClure gets my vote. Did a lot of little stuff right, played very, very good D every time he was on the floor. A player does not need to score a lot to have a big impact.

Jon got my vote even though Kyle played well. However Jon played great. JOn played 36 min, 3 of 4 three's, 3 rebs, 4 assists and only 1 TO, 22 pts total. He once again played good defense on the ball and off the ball. Good team effort for about 30 mins. Go Duke!

Jon gets it independent of the all-around excellent game he had, for notching his 1,000th career point.
Singler also had a very solid game, but it was Jon down the stretch with clutchness, again.
Also special props to LT for knocking down BOTH Fts on a 1-1. Rarely do we see clutchness from LT, but he gave it to us against Davidson.

Both Jon and Kyle could of had my vote, but in the end I went with Kyle simply because Davidson had no answer for him and he could have went off for 30+ points easily had he wanted to.

I voted for Jon, but.... I love that this team, everyone of them, is doing all the little things that don't show up in the stats. Kudos as always to Kyle, but Lance, Zoub, GH, GP, McClure, etc. all contributed when needed. (And others). Begone stats -- just bring it. And they seem to be doing that.

The 'three' in Curry's face to break the game was just plain outstanding.
