He makes some good points about all six major conferences. He evens brings up the idea that pound-for-pound, the ACC may be better than the Big East.

For those of you that are not ESPN Insiders, here is the ACC section:

What we think
Despite the overall depth of the Big East, the ACC has the top conference RPI. In fact, it is easy to see why as UNC, Duke and Wake Forest are all top 5 teams. It now looks like a three-team race, whereas before the battle seemed to be simply for second. Wake Forest's win in front of 23,000 rowdies at BYU was as good of a road nonconference win as any college basketball team has had over the past five years. We think the Deacs are for real.

And actually total BS - ask Gardner Webb, VMI and this list would go one forever.

From what I've heard and read about the game, maybe not.

23,000 fans, all of them wearing white, booing after every call, throwing stuff onto the court, etc. One of Wake's coaches said it was louder than any ACC game he's ever been in.

I'll let you know what I think of this article tomorrow afternoon, when espn finally finishes loading.

BYU had a long home-court win streak, but Wake went in as a top-5 team against a decided underdog. They should win that game 4 out of 5 times.

What does that say for unc vs. BC? Lost at home against a decided underdog. Go duke!

It's funny - the day after the VT game, DBR had twice as many posts in the UNC postgame thread as it had in Duke's!

Wake was the underdog, at least according to the oddsmakers: BYU -2.5
