Nice job by the guys today, and the numbers back it up. Virtually every contribution was positive ... until the end, when the reserves coughed up a decent portion of the lead. You'll see that reflected in their plus/minus stats. Not much more to say after a blowout like this, so on to the numbers ...

A number of the worst combinations on your list had a couple of starters along with Paulus and a couple of subs. I don't know how to interpret that, but having watched the game, it is clear that we are at our best with about 6 or 7 players involved. The freshmen didn't look solid tonight, so they need to make improvements as we will need them soon.

The freshmen didn't look solid tonight, so they need to make improvements as we will need them soon.That's what good about Jumbo showing all the combinations, Both Plumlee and Williams are near the top when paired with mostly starters, as they would be if forced into action during ACC play or NCAAs.

It was those last 7 minutes or so that their stats took a beating, particularly Marty's when paired with the three frosh. If I recall Marty's per 40 minutes were deceptively too high previously due to low number of minutes.

But with more minutes today, now the seasonal totals tend to equalize more as seen on the cumulative thread.
